Hi all
I hope you will forgive a fairly rare foray by myself onto this forum to announce a new feature on Public Libraries News.
I am pleased to announce, after a short delay, that the Public Libraries News website once again now has a subscription option on the top right-hand side of its pages. For an automatic update on the latest news straight to your inbox, go to http://www.publiclibrariesnews.com/ to subscribe.
The website is used as a major port of call by the national media and, I notice, politicians, library users and professionals. It gives a (I like to think) comprehensive listing of news and is normally updated around five times per week. It's listing of changes by authority is, I have been told, very useful for all sorts of reasons, including background research for best practice and, indeed, for job hunting.
The site also covers special articles such as a post by the Lead Member for Libraries for Brent at (http://www.publiclibrariesnews.com/2012/09/concentrate-on-services-not-buildings-councillor-powney-on-brents-library-transformation-project.html#comments) and also on the pros and cons of 3D printers for libraries (http://www.publiclibrariesnews.com/2012/10/maker-spaces-in-libraries-an-expert-takes-us-through-the-how-why-and-why-nots.html).
Many councils and individuals already send me press releases and details of what is going on in their areas but I'm always on the lookout for more. Please email [log in to unmask] if you have anything that you feel may be of interest.
Regards to you all, and, thank you.
