Dear All,
Sorry for short notice but this Friday's (9th November 2012)
Royal Astronomical Society Specialist Discussion Meeting
at Burlington House, Piccadilly, London, is of interest to geophysicists
and geologists:
"Lunar Science as a Window into the Early Evolution of the Solar System
and Conditions on the Early Earth"
Details are available at:
http://www.homepages.ucl.ac.uk/~ucfbiac/RAS_Earth_Moon_Programme.pdf
and also on the RAS meeting page
(http://www.ras.org.uk/component/gem/?id=189)
The organiser, Ian Crawford (UCL/Birkbeck) is keen to forge links between
the Earth Science community and planetary scientists,
"by demonstrating that the lunar geological record is directly
relevant to understanding the origin and early evolution of
the Earth (including key issues related to Earth's continued
habitability)".
The meeting is in the Geological Society Lecture Theatre
and starts at 10.00 am and ends at 3.30 pm (and is
followed by the regular RAS Ordinary Meeting at 4-6 pm).
If you can't attend but are interested in forming collaborations
in the subject, please do contact Ian at [log in to unmask]
Sheila Peacock, BGA/RAS.
