Hi
We use bingo balls. Harder to loose in a pocket or when forgotten lost in the wash!
Kind regards

Hi,
For the past 3 years our standard practice has been to collect mobiles for all exams, both paper-based and online. Each one is kept in a numbered, zipped plastic wallet and the student is given a corresponding numbered ticket. Normally, we bring the phones back to the Exams Office and the student has to collect it from us, but sometimes we leave the phones in the room with the invigilator, perhaps when we have just a couple of students siting. For large groups in our Sports Hall, we'll normally bring the phones back at the end of the exam. None of our invigilators have raised any concerns about the process. If a student refuses to hand in their phone (normally when it's an iphone), then they won't be allowed to sit. The system works well and we've yet to misplace or lose one.

Subject: LEGAL RESPONSIBILITY AND MOBILE PHONES
Hi everyone
We have recently had some feedback from external invigilators concerning legal responsibility and mobile phones during online exams in particular.
Can anyone share how they deal with mobile phones in online exams, where they are kept in the room if the students bring them in, what happens if a student refuses to turn it off or keep it on their person. If you have a disclaimer you use to put the legal responsibility on the student and not the invigilator then would you be willing to share it?
We can then make some decisions on how to move this forward at our College.
Thanks
Sally
