We wondered whether it was from the Jiscmail archive. E-mail addresses are hidden but anyone who has their phone number in an auto-signature has given themselves away.

I had a similar call and yes the lady said she was from leadphysician.com. I said I would look at their website but was not willing to give them my e-mail address.
Strange thing is how would they have got telephone numbers but not know our e-mail addresses?

This is a company called lead physician:
http://www2.leadphysician.com/
They are American and I said yes to all the questions and then filled the e mail in "deleted" so I shouldn't hear any more (fingers crossed). I have also added their e mail address to my junk list so they are blocked.

Subject: Odd phone call
Dear all,
I received a call yesterday from a lady with a foreign accent from an agency that I did not know.
'You Dr Shapiro? you clinical biochemist? I make you honorarium for reviewing cases on line''
I can only assume someone was fishing for my bank account details. I know I respond to nearly all NEQAS cases for comment but who on earth would want to make me an offer like that?
Can anyone shed any light on this?
Leonie
