I know Dundee have done a lot of work on delta checks and some time ago I did work out all the critical changes for our assays but found that review queue became stuffed with failed deltas for no good reason, so we are also running on a "cobbled together" list. I recently had a look through the literature but could only find vague recommendations as to what analytes were fairly stable and which were not. I think it but would be good to obtain a consensus even if that was "we don't bother"

Subject: delta ckecks and critical limits for call-out of results
Dear Colleagues,
Is there any evidence-base for these values that so many laboratories use to generate repeat analyses or phone calls to clinician ?
We have 'cobbled together' a list of delta checks etc based on 'impressions', but if there was a national concensus or some evidence-base for these values we would be keen to align ourselves to those.
Regards,
Michael Ryan
