Dear Idanet:
I hope the attached JPEG image has come through okay.
Since I discovered and published (1994) that the long sought for Structural
Model of Personality is caused by the orthogonal geometry
of primary brain cleavage, and while I am waiting for the field of
Psychology to notice my paper, I am keeping busy investigating the
many fascinating ramifications of the 3D geometry of the SMOP, particularly
its influence on the 3D geometry of vision and facial expression.
I posted an artical previously on the notion of a "Myopic Personality"
and suggested that it may be due to wearing strong negative eyeglasses
which makes everyone look much smaller than they actually are.
Of further interest in this area is the conjecture that ordinarly pedestrian
"astigmatism" which affects about 30% of the population may also be
"Personality related".
It is well known that astigmatism is caused by a "football shaped"
distortion of the lens of the eye, hence magnification is greater or
lesser in the horizontal vs. vertical directions. Obviously this will
effect the astigmatic persons apprehension of faces and facial expression.
Attached is a graphic that I prepared using the well known face of
Mona Lisa. On the left is a picture of what a "vertical astigmatic"
thinks she looks like, and on the right is the person that the "horizontal
astigmatic" sees. Obvisously the vertical and horizontal astigmatics
are seeing two very different personality types. These 3 faces can be
identificed as extremely well known and common personalty types well
known to virtually every adult.
Finally, I have been investigating the use of "virtual reality" as a
psychotherapy tool and these simple investigations, now that the SMOP
has been discovered and found to be a 3D geometry I think are the first
simple steps in what will probably be the next age of mental treatment...
virtual reality therapy.
