There is a Cochrane review on the topic which is worth reading: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/20238343
In addition AHRQ also has some guidance: http://www.guideline.gov/content.aspx?id=13497

Subject: fetal scalp pH
Dear All,
This is an old question, but I would like to sound current practise.
Is the practise of measuring fetal scalp pH still widely used? Have many people moved to fetal scalp pH or abandoned the practise of intrapartum sampling of fetal scalp altogether?
Thanks much.
Michael
