For '(d. earlier 4th cent.)' please read '(d. prob. later 3d cent.)'. The rationale for this departure from the traditional dating was given in the post linked to above.
What is thought to be the earliest surviving German-language martyrology (Jena, Thüringische Universitäts- und Landesbibliothek, Ms. Bos. q. 3; prob. mid-thirteenth-century) offers in its entries for 9. March an account of the Forty Martyrs of Sebaste followed by a depiction of their suffering. Go to the digitization here:
http://martyrologium.thulb.uni-jena.de/book/index.html
and, using either the right-facing arrow at top right or the folio numbers at lower right in the facsimile itself, click through to 20v-21r.
Clicking on the lower of the two blue buttons at left will bring up a transcription of the entries for 9. March.
Best,
John Dillon
