medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture
Herewith a link to an earlier 'Saints of the day' for 26. February (including St. Dionysius of Augsburg; St. Alexander of Alexandria; St. Faustinianus of Bologna; St. Porphyry of Gaza; St. Victor of Arcis; Bl. Adalbert and Ottokar of Tegernsee):

Further to Alexander of Alexandria:
In that previous post's notice of this saint, the link to a page from which one may access Alexander's surviving writings in English translation was alas (_erubesco dicere_) a link to something altogether different. This link should do the trick:

To that notice add this view of Alexander of Alexandria as depicted in a somewhat degraded eleventh-century fresco in the monastery church of the Theotokos Eleousa at Veljusa (Strumica municipality) in the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia:

Further to Victor of Arcis:
In that previous post's notice of this saint, the two CVMA links to an image of a mitred Victor in a window panel at St. Mary Magdalene in Wiggenhall and to the church's window as a whole (nIV) no longer function. Use these instead:

Today (26. February) is also the feast day of:
Agricola of Nevers (d. 594, traditionally). An early bishop of Nevers, Agricola (in French, Arigle) seems to have served after 570, when a predecessor is recorded as attending a council, and before 614, when a successor is first recorded. In his later ninth-century martyrology Usuard of Saint-Germain entered him under today. Agricola's relics, kept in a since demolished church in Nevers bearing his name, were profaned in 1791.
Best,
John Dillon
