Today (11. February) is also the feast day of:
Ardagnus (d. 1056). Ardagnus (also Ardanus; in French, Ardain, Ardaing, Ardagne, etc.) was the thirteenth abbot of the abbey of St. Philibert at Tournus (Saône-et-Loire). Most of the very little that we know about him comes from the abbey's chronicle. He succeeded abbot Barnerius / Bernarius in 1028; in the great famine of 1031-1033 he distinguished himself through his efforts to alleviate the suffering of the local population. During his reign the abbey acquired churches in the dioceses of Geneva and Vienne. Ardagnus was accorded an Elevatio in 1140 when his remains were translated to a chapel dedicated to him in the abbey's church of St. Philibert; those remains were burned by Huguenots in 1562. In later medieval Tournus was celebrated both today (the anniversary of his being laid to rest) and on 5. October (commemorating his translation).
