Cameron - Good luck, I'm wrapping up a 2-year book project just this month,
as you well know! ;) http://designforcare.com a Rosenfeld Media publication.
It's been behind schedule since I started it, due to the rapid changes in
the field and the not so rapid changes in my ability to keep up.
It's good to know of the accessibility of these materials for educators. I
don't teach in sustainability but have always appreciated the Okala
Ecodesign Guide. IDSA has made summary materials available online at
http://www.idsa.org/okala-ecodesign-guide and the guide itself was updated
in 2010. An excellent series of chapters from Papanek, Rachel Carson, and
Paul Hawken were scanned and linked, providing a decent starting point for a
curriculum.
The Guide has good standing in the field, and it would be helpful to
reference and for instructors to know how to navigate among the different
resources they have to choose from, and why and when to use what.
Peter
Ann,
Abby Mellick-Lopes and I have been contracted by Berg to produce a
Sustainable Design Reader. The original proposal can be down- loaded at:
http://dasaufnahme.wordpress.com/publications/
We are in the middle of finalizing permissions and producing the manuscript.
Consequently, the content list changes day-to-day, but we are also still
open to suggestions. We are behind schedule though still confident that the
manuscript will be completed in the next 2-3 months.
