Hi,
I'm not sure if you are familiar with the project CALIPER in Canada. The aim was to establish pediatric reference values for different tests on different instruments.
For Vitros 5600 the results were published in Clinical Biochemistry 43 (2010) pp 1039-1044
The values are:
TSH (mUI/L) for Male and Female
0-10 yrs 0.7658-6.224
>10-15 yrs 0.578-5.601
>15-20 yrs 0.431-3.75
FT4 (pmol/L) Male and Female
0-10 yrs 11.64-24.76
>10-20 yrs 8.05-22.46
FT3 (pmol/L)
Male
0-1 yr 5.46-8.61 (F)
>1-5 yrs 3.41-8.33 (F)
>5-10 yrs 4.53-9.66 (M & F)
>10-15 yrs 2.98-8.41 (F)
>15-20 yrs 2.99-7.84 (M & F)
0-5 yrs 4.67-9.19 (M)
>10-15 yrs 4.19-9.00 (M)

Objet : TFT paediatric reference ranges on Vitros 5600
Dear All,
We currently analyse TFTs on the Ortho Vitros 5600 and ECi. Does anyone have paediatric reference ranges for TSH, FT3 and FT4 for the Vitros 5600/ECi that they would be willing to share?
Thanks
