Just so. Think of poor Trudpert (26. April), obtaining land in the Breisgau and then offed by serfs who were supposed to clear it for his hermitage. (This story, which goes back to T.'s earliest Vita, very likely symbolizes strife between the new monastic owners of what's now Münstertal im Schwarzwald and its hitherto probably largely untrammeled local inhabitants in the early years of the monastery named for T.)
