*Apologies for cross-posting*
As a result of some recent feedback I just wanted to clarify that the event UC&R East Midlands is advertising below is intended to be of value to *any* library worker interested in helping to innovate and think creatively about their place of work. There was a suggestion that it appeared to be aimed only at managers but this is not the case. There are still places available, so if you had previously been put off thinking it wasn't aimed at you, think again and get scribbing on that staff development form!
UC&R East Midlands presents
SHAPING THE LIBRARY'S FUTURE: ENCOURAGING INNOVATION AT WORK
29th November 2011 at The David Wilson Library, University of Leicester
A full day workshop by Hudson Rivers Management & Training Consultants
Improving our skills in innovative thinking is an increasingly important area for academic library and information staff, helping us to influence the services we provide as well as encouraging ourselves and others to take a more proactive approach. This intensive one day workshop, which will primarily be of interest to those in the further and higher education sectors, is being organised by UC&R East Midlands and will be facilitated by Hudson Rivers trainer Beryl Morris. It will:
• identify why innovative thinking is increasingly important
• provide a toolkit of creativity techniques
• explore ways to evaluate ideas and translate them into practical actions
• consider ways to encourage an innovative approach in our library services
• encourage the exchange of ideas and experience
