Research Fellow in Health Service Research
SALARY: £31,798 - £39,107 Fixed-term for until 30th September 2013
The Peninsula Medical School is widely regarded as the strongest of the new medical schools in the UK. It has established an excellent reputation for high quality educational programmes and research. This post will be located within the Evidence Synthesis Team of PenCLAHRC and is funded by the NIHR. PenCLAHRC (the NIHR Collaboration for Leadership in Applied Health Research and Care in the South West) aims to improve the clinical effectiveness of services by the conduct of patient-focused research into both the efficacy of interventions and how best to get them into practice. We are seeking to appoint a research fellow with an interest in evidence synthesis. The key purpose of the post is to support and lead systematic reviews on the wide variety of topics being taken forward within PenCLAHRC to address unanswered research questions. You will also be involved in the identification and prioritisation processes being established within PenCLAHRC to identify key issues of significance to the local health economy.
You will have a good first degree and a qualification at PhD level in relevant subject (such as in research methodology) and will have experience of undertaking systematic reviews and synthesis of quantitative research. Experience of undertaking systematic reviews and synthesis of qualitative research and using methods such as realist synthesis will be advantageous.
The post will be based in Exeter and will be a University of Exeter appointment.
