Hi, Toon,
There is a society that works with the issue of design and
emotion. They've had a rich conference series, and they have
a good web site.
http://www.designandemotion.org/
If you want to study the issue of design and happiness, this
society has many helpful experts who work in design with
backgrounds and expertise in a wide variety of fields. The
society in an open network, so you can join online to find
the other members.
A few years back, Don Norman gave a talk at TED titled
"3 ways good design makes you happy." If this is the
nature of your query, this is a good place to begin:

You can also read Don's essay, "Emotion & Design: Attractive
things work better."

or his book Emotional Design: Why We Love (or Hate) Everyday Things

If you're looking to go deeper, though, you may need to examine design
from the perspectives of social psychology or design anthropology.
For a starter, though, a visit to the Design and Emotion Society Web site
and the Norman online resources can't hurt. Since your question is fairly
open-ended, I'm not sure this is what you're looking for, but it's a
reasonable place to start.
Yours,
Ken Friedman
