e-Resources Co-ordinator

Grade 5: £19,822 - £22,971 per annum, pro rata.

 

 

For our busy, customer-focused academic library we are seeking a confident user of IT, with a sound understanding of the standards and technologies used to organise and link electronic resources.  Building on your existing experience of library and information services work, you will be able to develop your career in an academic library environment.

 

This role provides an exciting opportunity to co-ordinate work associated with the administration of the University Library's growing collection of e-resources, ensure continuity of access, provide help and guidance to Library colleagues and customers, and to work within an area of major strategic importance to the ongoing development of Durham University Library.

 

You will have a good general education to degree level, an understanding of service quality and of the standards and technologies used to organise and link e-resources, good communication skills, and IT competence for a rapidly-changing environment.  A professional qualification in information management or librarianship, knowledge and experience of electronic resources work, and familiarity with appropriate standards for bibliographic metadata, such as RDA and MARC21, are highly desirable.

 

This is a temporary, full-time Grade 5 post, offered on a fixed-term basis as a result of the current post-holder covering a maternity leave appointment.  The salary is £19,822 - £22,971 per annum, pro rata.
