Hi,
For the sets and locations in Bladerunner, Syd Mead scripted a future history of architecture.
He designed an early version of the city, then tore things down, reworked and retrofitted other parts to
get a sense of an authentic historical continuum. Have a look at the 'neo-Mayan-Lloyd-Wright' interiors in Deckard's apartment.
Syd Mead was also a consulting designer on Johnny Mnemonic,
and he designed the attack ship in 'Aliens' that is based on an M16 rifle.
His original design was spherical, which made more sense as a functional ship,
but apparently didn't look aggressive enough.

Hi
You might want to look at back copies of Cinefex (Industry trade magazine) and also at the work of Syd Mead.
