The CONSORT website reports that 'The CONSORT statement focuses mainly
on trials with participants individually randomised to one of two
“parallel” groups.' However, I cannot find a different version for
crossover trials, nor I can find a good reason why the standard
statement could not be used for such trials (provided that additional
information specific for crossover trials is also given).
Searching the site, it seems that there is/was a discussion about
crossover trials
http://www.consort-statement.org/database/evidence-underpinning-consort/trial-design-issues/crossover-trials/,
but the link to the page is broken.
Is there any reason not to use the CONSORT statement for a crossover trial?
thanks,

PS Yes, I have Stephen Senn's "Cross-over trials in clinical research"
on my desk. It's my bible ;-)
