In checking the PDF, I am embarrassed to discover that even though the PDF of the report contains the publishing data, we did not structure it in the neat, explicit form we should have done to permit better citation. To be honest, we wrote it for use here -- while I was happy to send it around when we started to get requests for copies, I did not expect the huge interest it received. Given the fact that it was the first journal ranking study specifically for the design field, it turned out to have greater value than we had planned.
In the next few days, I will prepare a new edition with proper publication data in the front matter.
This was a quick study used to provide background information for a representation to the Australian Research Council on problems with the old journal ranking system. We sacrificed methodological elegance for speed. It served its purpose, and rankings were indeed revised before the ranking scheme was finally abandoned. This change was announced by the government a few days ago.
For those who are interested, I am happy to say that a far better journal ranking for our field has been done by Gerda Gemser, Cees de Bont, Paul Hekkert and myself. It is now under review at a leading journal. When it is published, it will be available to the field.
My apologies for failing to include a crisp and citable cover page on the report. I will correct this.
Warm wishes,
Ken

Mike Mcauley asks:
"Does anyone know how the 'Design research journal rankings preliminary study' (2008) can be cited? I have it as a PDF but I am unable to cite it as a verifiable document. I have just had an article accepted for Art, Design and Communication in Higher Education and wish to provide evidence of that journal's ranking."
