That was my initial thought as well. But there's not much decoration on the facade (late 1450s or early 1460s) of the duomo of Piacenza (consecrated 1462):

And there's very little decoration on the facade (ca. 1500-ca. 1506) of the duomo of Ariano Irpino:

The latter (the placement of whose lower statues is dated to 1502) strikes me as a fair analogue in severity for the portal of St.-Médard at Blénod-lès-Toul.
Again, apart from the niches, there's very little ornamentation on the facade of Santa Maria del Parto in Naples (late 1520s):
