We have been running the Edexcel on-line tests for about two months. Both students and tutors seem to like the look of the exams on screen. They are definitely more user friendly than C&G GOLA tests. They're easy to set up too.
The only drawback that we have discovered so far is that if you have had a mixture of paper-based and on-line exams for English as we have where students have failed part paper-based and gone on to pass an on-line test, Edexcel do not have the facility to merge the parts of the exams together.
Can't help with diagnostic tool - sorry.

Subject: Edexcel Functional Skills - on-line
Hi
Has anyone been running the Edxecel on-line functional skills? We are considering moving across following the problems we've has with C&G (paper based) this year.
Had an Edxecel presentation this morning, I'm impressed by the Course Coordinators wre raising concerns.
Have you had problems with students not having sufficient IT skills, were the exams easy to use etc?
Also does anyone have a suitable FS specific initial assessment and diagnostic assessment as there were concerns about being able to identify students levels in time to regsiter.
Any feedback will be much appreciated.
Thanks
