Dear Yahuei,
We have done quite some work on 'Video as Design Material' over the years, i.e. how designers may use ethnographic video shot in the field to actively make sense and propose design directions.
Recently we have made experiments with 'Video Design Specs' that visually convey design requirements to design teams, and how this may influence team discussions. I'll send you a reference off-list:

Dear all,
Is there any research related to documentary and community?
Or could any one provide theory structure that are helpful in researching into this field?
Currently, I'm researching into knowledge exchange through moving images and is researching into design theories on this topic.
I appreciate any imput for this topic. Thank you very much!
Best,
