Where do you find that code? The config_vomsdir function has not changed
since more than 2 years and looks different from what you wrote:
while read line; do
[...]
done < <(split_quoted_variable $voms_ca_dn)
1. This is acceptable for bash, but maybe not every "sh" derivative.
2. Are you using a local function instead?
