Dear Pedro (and group),
I noticed some fonts on the USGS website you listed. Do you happen to
know if these fonts solve some of the export problems between ArcGIS
and Illustrator. For example, if one exports a map from Arc using the
Illustrator format selection, none of the basic symbols are properly
converted. What was a dot on the Arc map, for instance, comes in as
an exclamation point in Illustrator. I have been searching for the
fonts that would solve this problem but have not found any, nor have I
discovered if the problem is a lack of fonts on the Windows side, or a
lack of fonts on the Mac side (where I use Illustrator and do pretty
much everything else I do - I only use Windows for ArcGIS work). I
imagine the proper fonts (containing all the necessary symbols) must
be present on the Windows side, but have never found their equivalent
on the Mac side.
Thanks for any suggestions/comments you (or anyone else on the list)
can provide.
