The NHS is facing major reforms. Providing information on all aspects
of health care is seen as the key to better health care and better
outcomes for patients. As a result, there is a growing need for robust
measures to assess the performance of providers of obstetric and
gynaecological care, both in terms of clinical indicators and
patient-reported outcome measures.
We are seeking an enthusiastic health services researcher who can
manage large projects that collect these performance measures.
Applicants must have at least an MSc in health services research, public
health, statistics or a related discipline. You should have excellent
quantitative skills and experience of research or clinical audit.
You will be responsible for liaising with stakeholders, collecting and
analysing data, writing peer-reviewed papers, and disseminating the
projects’ conclusions and recommendations. This post provides a unique
opportunity to play a major role in the development of a programme
evaluating the quality of obstetric and gynaecological care in the UK.
The post will be based in the Office for Research and Clinical Audit, a
collaboration between the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine
and the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists. You will be
part of a multidisciplinary team of researchers and clinicians who play
a leading role in shaping and guiding obstetric and gynaecological
audit.
The post is offered full time initially for a 3-year period. The salary
will be between £35 and £44k, depending on qualifications and
experience.
