Good afternoon,
I am looking at updating our damaged stock policy and would be grateful if anyone could send me a copy of theirs.
If you don't have a written policy it would be useful to know:
If you charge for all damaged stock or exclude certain categories (e.g. Children's).
If you charge the same replacement fee for a book whether it is brand new or has had lots of issues.
Who makes the decision about when to charge for damaged stock (the library assistant serving the customer or the librarian/stock manager)
I am happy to summarise responses for the list.
Best wishes
