I agree with John and support his decision as the list owner to allow Falk Koenemann's ideas. I do not necessarily agree with Falk, but I found his arguments force me to rethink basic assumptions in mechanics.
I look forward to his discourse #4. I hope that I will learn in that document why reversible elastic deformation is not conservative…. That conclusion seems odd.
Best,
Mark

Subject: Re: Discourse 3
As list owner, I have agreed to this series of postings. One of the sources of Dr Koenemann's frustration is that he has, for many years, been unable to get his ideas put before a structural geology audience, though they have been accepted for publication elsewhere. It is my view that an open list such as Geo-tectonics is a valid forum for him to use. The postings are clearly titled and sourced and if members feel they hold no relevance for them, then a single click of the mouse is all that is needed to delete them.

Hi,
query: is this legit that Dr Koenemann can keep posting all this stuff to this email server? What is the purpose of all this? I can’t see how these ‘random’ postings without context are in any way effective use of the geo-tectonics list – or effective ways of communicating frustration.
