If you don't want to, or can't delve in the .py files, then it is
relatively easy to do this for individual postscript output files. In your
favourite text editor search for PS_set_linewidth and change the number
that appears immediately before this to the value you want.
PS_set_linewidth usually occurs only a few times ni the file and you can
get set the marks, tick marks etc this way too. I find values in the range
0.5-3 work well depending on the size of the output you are creating,
number of contours etc.
