Dear Suchada,
On Ubuntu and Debian systems you should be following
the instructions at:
http://neuro.debian.net/pkgs/fsl.html
and not using the fsl tar files for centos.
You should have been redirected to the above
address from the FSL download page. It requires
you to select the Debian option as this is the
closest for Ubuntu.
