Dear Joćo.
You will find a variety of useful literature in the bibliography of my PhD thesis: The Affective Sustainability of Objects. Go to www.borjesson-mk.se and ask for a password. I have also put most of my papers on the 'blog' http://the foundobject.canalblog.com. These papers are good sources of references.
Sustainability is much more than we usually indicate by putting a re- in front of a verb. If we reduce the issue to materiality we risk, to cite Tony Fry, to sustain the unsustainable.
Have a great day.

Oi Joćo,
You should check out Cradle to Cradle book http://www.mcdonough.com/cradle_to_cradle.htm
The authors propose a surprising way of dealing with materials and objects in which they regenerate in other products. It would be a kind of mimicry of nature life-cycles.
