Hi Julia,
Last year 6 of our libraries in Cheshire East took on the function of delivering the One stop shop function. This was to meet efficiency savings targets and basically meant that 6 one stop shops closed and libraries took on their role without taking on the staff. The libraries involved currently take council tax payments, deal with concessionary travel passes, verify Benefits forms and generally answer CE enquiries or redirect them as appropriate. On the back of this initiative we secured capital funding to introduce self service into all our libraries and are part way through this programme.
Thanks, Lynda

Subject: Libraries fully integrated with One Stop Shops
I'm looking for examples of libraries which have integrated very closely with their council one stop shops
e.g. shared self service area; shared staff; single reception/enquiry point; rather than simply sharing the same building but operating independently within the building. Can anyone name any locations that are working in this way?
thanks - Julia
