Hi Leonardo,
Designing Interactions : Bill Moggridge (one of Ideo founders).
Designing Pleasurable Products - An introduction to the new human factors:
Patrick Jordan.
Two books I found quite useful.
----
About Alan's query, here are some opinions..
I second Anamika's opinion about Prof. M. P. Ranjan's material online. It
applies to very complex scenarios and trends.
Personally, I think Marketing creates limited semantic units that often fail
to engage with the more holistic and daring language of design.
Design's role as a black box in a corner results when it does not get
involved in creating the whole ecosystem...one where the project and
different brains can breathe constructively.
One of very old concepts that helped me are, Joseph Novak's concept maps and
its various implementations could help in understanding the cognitive
behaviour of ideas, interrelationships and creative loops, and help to form
project ecosystems where diverse department's ideas could be categorized and
iterated effectively. (One of the many strategic tools, learnt from Ranjan
himself)

cheers!
