Dear colleagues,
We are about to change the glucose load for GTT to using 75g powdered
glucose. In preliminary field trials this did not dissolve easily in cold
water (300 mL). I would very much appreciate feedback from anyone using
powdered glucose as to
a) how do you dissolve it and how long do you leave it once dissolved before
giving it to the patient?
b) in how much water do you dissolve the glucose? and
c) Does anyone have evidence / experience on safety aspects of making up
batches and storing them versus having to make up each one at the time?
Any feedback would be appreciated.
Best wishes.
Peadar
