Consider it a free upgrade to gLite 3.2 :-)

It does, it uses that to add in all the site general stuff. If you
query a working site BDII you can see either the whole lot:
ldapsearch -x -H ldap://t2bdii03.physics.ox.ac.uk:2170 -b
Mds-vo-name=UKI-SOUTHGRID-OX-HEP,o=grid
or just the stuff that the BDII adds itself:
ldapsearch -x -H ldap://t2bdii04.physics.ox.ac.uk:2170 -b
Mds-vo-name=resource,o=grid
Our BDII_REGIONS bit from site-info.def looks (more or less) like this:
BDII_REGIONS="CE1 CE2 CE3 CE5 CE6 BDII SE NAGIOS" # list of the
services provided by the site
BDII_CE2_URL="ldap://t2ce04.physics.ox.ac.uk:2170/mds-vo-name=resource,o
=grid"
BDII_CE1_URL="ldap://t2ce02.physics.ox.ac.uk:2170/mds-vo-name=resource,o
=grid"
BDII_CE3_URL="ldap://ngsce-test.oerc.ox.ac.uk:2170/mds-vo-name=resource,

BDII_CE5_URL="ldap://t2ce05.physics.ox.ac.uk:2170/mds-vo-name=resource,o
=grid"
BDII_CE6_URL="ldap://t2ce06.physics.ox.ac.uk:2170/mds-vo-name=resource,o
=grid"
BDII_NAGIOS_URL="ldap://gridppnagios.physics.ox.ac.uk:2170/mds-vo-name=r

BDII_BDII_URL="ldap://t2bdii04.physics.ox.ac.uk:2170/mds-vo-name=resourc

BDII_SE_URL="ldap://$DPM_HOST:2170/mds-vo-name=resource,o=grid"
