Dear Isla,
For sufficient bone health Vitamin D values of 50 - 80 nmol/L are needed
in individuals. For additional health benefits (immunological and
others) values of >75 nmol/L seem to be indicated. Therefore seasonal
variations wil only reflect the increasing number of individuals with a
Vitamin D deficiency during winter times.
(Vieth R, Bischoff-Ferrari H, Boucher BJ, Dawson-Hughes B, Garland CF,

that is effective. Am J Clin Nutr 2007;85:649-650.)

Subject: IDS-ISYS 25OHD
Dear Colleagues,
We are currently in the process of changing platforms for our 25-hydroxy
vitamin D measurements. Are there any IDS-ISYS users out there who can
offer any advice on the seasonal reference ranges they quote for
25-hydroxy vitamin D measurement?
Regards
Isla
