Hi Tim
When we first had our Beckman track, we initially kept an analyser offline to cope with urgent work and urines, babies etc. We found difficulty maintaining the turnaround for Casualty.
Eventually we bit the bullet and put the analyser back on the track and put urines through in primary blood tubes and put urgent work through. We have never looked back.

I would be interested to know how laboratories with full preanalytics
and tracked immunoassay and chemistry analysers, use the system for
urgent samples , and if not what alternatives do they employ? and what
are the limitations of the fully automated system? If you could let me
know your main supplier that would also help. I will not publish any
replies without permission. So if any replies could be sent direct to me
at [log in to unmask]
many thanks
Tim.
