There's a useful list of links at the end of the Wikipedia article, s.v.:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vulgate#External_links
Note that the links include the Stuttgart edition (on which see Robert
Kraft's note at: http://www.sacredbible.org/guide-vulgate.htm), the
Clementine, and the Nova Vulgata.
Also of possible interest are the several copies of the Gutenberg
Bible on-line (among them
http://www.bl.uk/treasures/gutenberg/homepage.html) and various early
editions digitized and available at places like Gallica at the BNF
(http://gallica.bnf.fr/) and manuscripts searchable at
http://manuscripts.cmrs.ucla.edu/.
I believe the FLOSS Sword Project includes the Stuttgart Vulgate as a
downloadable component:
http://www.crosswire.org/sword/index.jsp
That might prove particularly useful if your student wants a
searchable local copy.
