medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture
Mohammed's Night Journey is, I believe, described in some Islamic
texts not as a physical journey but a spiritual one, essentially an
out of body experience of some sort. St Paul alludes to something
similar in one of his epistles, and St John's vision in Revelation
might be understood that way as well.
