Dear colleagues,
rate of undervaluation of smaller vertabrates (in comparison to bigger ones) is
debated in Lyman (1994) for example. He quoted work by Behrensmeyer and
Boaz (1980) who suggest this formula: y= -0,1067 + 0,5741*x; x=LOG (live
weight), y=LOG (N observed/N expected). N is number of individuals. Does
somebody know if it is possible to use the formula for NISP or weight instead
of number of individuals? Or can somebody advise other formula for degree of
undervaluation measured by NISP or weight.
Thank,
René
