the option that I think you are looking for is called "bias correction";
it is now implemented within the unified segmentation framework (i.e.,
you need to click on segment). There is an extended option to write bias
corrected images. If that does not suffice, then playing around with the
extended options may help. Not sure this is the same as "histogram
matching" that the previous mail referred to?
