CILIP in Scotland is organising a one day conference aimed at library staff
wishing to learn more about the equalities agenda as it affects service
delivery and development. The event takes place in the Mitchell Library
Moir/Dyer Suite on Tuesday 17th November 2009.
In a wide ranging programme delegates will:
• Receive an update on the legislative landscape for equality and diversity
and the implications of the new Equalities Bill;
• See Access Apps, the award winning initiative from the JISC Regional
Support Centres which provides a range of solutions to support writing,
reading and planning as well as sensory, cognitive and physical difficulties;
• Discover what makes good inclusive practice in libraries;
• Find out more about CILIP’s positive action scheme, ‘Encompass’;
• Consider the support needs and challenges of internationalization in the
tertiary education sector and
• Learn how libraries can serve as portals to positive mental health.
