Perhaps these papers from my files will help
Based on the magnitude ie 4x the upper RI, has anyone ruled out a Macro
CK?
As the level has been consistent and elevated, I suspect a Macro is more
likely
Peace
Joe

Subject: CK increased in negroes
Dear All,
My understanding is that CK is raised in black people (vs. whites), due
to greater muscle mass... does anyone have info. on the magnitude of the
difference please?
We have a request for CK levels from a GP whose patient is black and on
statin. Patient's CK is around 800 (4 x top of ref. range) and has been
for the last year.
Many thanks
Helen Smith
