Dear UK colleagues,
I hope this isn't an inappropriate posting, but this opportunity might be of interest to the right British archaeologist.
I ran a couple of tours for this company in the 1980's and had a blast guiding Americans around the historic sites and pubs of England and Wales.
Please feel free to pass on message, but for more info please contact the company.
Thanks
Jon
TOUR STUDY LEADER NEEDED
THROUGH THE GLASS DARKLY:
An Archaeological Pub Crawl through Great Britain
Far Horizons Archaeological and Cultural Trips is looking for archaeologists, historians or anthropologists to lead a tour of England and southern Scotland –- September 17-29, 2009. Please see the itinerary on our award-winning website - http://www.farhorizons.com/europe/pubs.htm
Far Horizons Archaeological and Cultural Trips was founded in 1983, and all our trips have an archaeological, historical, and/or cultural emphasis. Our trips provide a unique travel experience that promotes an interest in and stewardship of the world's diverse archaeological, cultural and natural heritage.
Please note that our tours to this destination tend to be very small groups (3-6 participants). Study leaders must be willing to drive a 7-passenger vehicle as well as be the expert.
We are searching for someone hopefully with a PhD (and probably still without a permanent job), but we will consider someone who is ABD. Candidates should be outgoing, energetic, personable, patient, responsible, and with a good sense of humor.
