medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture
Greetings, Doctissimi,
For rather dreadful reasons I won't bore you with, our plans for a jaunt through Europe took a detour and landed us in Belgium rather than in France. Nonetheless, I faithfully executed to the best of my ability my pledge to "shoot" misericords and images of Gabriel. The church of St Anna in Brugge (available now) has some dandy misericords and I also uploaded to share site the Jerusalemkerk simply because it's interesting. I also happened upon the relic of the Holy Blood when it was up for veneration so I went to check it out. There's quite enough info and images on the web so I will not provide any extra except privately and upon request. I have no photos, just memories.
Coming attractions: Nivelles; Sint Niklaas misericords; various versions of Gabriel from hither and yon. Check with the share site from time to time. I'll let you know when I've uploaded everything I've got.
