Assistantship 50% FTE)

This post is an exceptional opportunity for a well qualified graduate
with research ambitions and teaching potential in Higher Education.
The position is a clearly defined training/career development position
and will provide the opportunity for study towards a PhD on a
part-time basis coupled with part-time teaching experience in the
School of Performance and Cultural Industries. Teaching
responsibilities will be allocated in the light of current workloads
of existing academic staff, and of the experience and aptitude of the
successful applicant. Potential PhD topics lay within the area of
digital scenography; site-specific scenography; scenography-led
dramatic performance; interactive performance technology.
The post is available from 1 September 2009 for a fixed term until 31
August 2011. At the end of the fixed-term contract, subject to
satisfactory performance, you may be reappointed for 2-4 years
(depending upon how long it takes to complete the PhD) but the
training post will not be extended beyond 31 August 2013.
University Grade 6 (£24,152 - £28,839 p.a. pro rata) or University
Grade 7 (£29,704 - £35,469 p.a. pro rata), plus annual stipend of
£6,300; PhD fees will be paid by the School.
