Hello, all,
This is mainly for Ewan's interest, since he's been playing with
Oxford's DPM performance.
Since you have no IOWait issues, as we do at Glasgow, most of our
current optimisations probably aren't as helpful to you.
One thing we have done is to increase the MySQL thread cache size
(which defaults to 0). This probably saves tiny amounts per request,
but it adds up when you have a lot of threads suddenly being needed.
So, as well as increasing the total DPNS threads to 40 or so, you
might try setting:
global.thread_cache_size = 4;
in MySQL too. (If it works, you can add it to the my.cnf as usual).
I'm interested on how, or if, this works, if you try it.
Any other sites welcome to contribute, of course.
Sam
