Applications are invited for a Statistician to join the Institute's Mental Health and Neurosciences Clinical Trials Unit (MH&N CTU).
You will be based in the Institute of Psychiatry, Department of Biostatistics and will be expected to contribute significantly to the design, oversight of conduct and analysis of academic clinical trials in mental health and neuroscience both internally and external to the organization.
You may also participate in the teaching programme of the wider department and engage in applied statistical research. An interest in clinical trials and experience with statistical packages such as SPSS, STATA or R is essential. Previous experience in a clinical trials unit is desirable. Enthusiasm and excellent communication skills are essential as considerable negotiation with research teams is required to ensure trials are conducted to the appropriate regulatory and academic standards.
The unit was established in 2002 with the aim of becoming a centre of excellence for clinical trials, meta-analyses and related methodological research in mental health and the neurosciences. It has close links with the MHRN, DeNDRoN, MCRN and the MRC Clinical Trials Unit.
Starting salary in the range £32,917 pa to £47,253 pa, depending on qualifications and experience.
