no need for apologies.
since the Middle Ages never ended, there are no "non-medieval" questions.

HBS 23 download (from Google) was only 7.2mb and the HBS 28 (from MSN) was
28.2mb? I can't detect any difference in resolution on my screen.
the difference could be in the version of Acrobat used to scan the thing
--later versions (i have access to Acro8 here) have a rather nice "reduce file
size" feature, which usually cuts the size down by about a half.
there may also be more efficiency in the original scanning in the later
versions, which would result in a smaller size, even before RFS was used.
the Googles definitely used early versions, to judge by the crappiness (a
technical term) of the scans.
so, my own, thoroughly middlevil, question is:
what is MSN?
