Today's ODNB Life of the Day is Edmund King's biography of Henry de
Blois (c.1096-1171), bishop of Winchester
I am pretty sure we have had him before. I do wish that, with thousands of
lives to choose from and only 365 days in a year, they rang the changes a
bit more. It is almost as if they have decided who the most important
person connected with a particular day is and now have a canon that they
will repeat ad nauseam . Now, if they followed John Dillon's example of
picking several associated with each day we might have more choice.
Forgive my crabbiness - perhaps it is the stress of having parents
imminently arriving for Christmas!
